Fiona Brewster was born in Antibes on the 30th September 1938, i.e., on the edge of the second world war. She grew up a European in Belgium, France, England, Italy and Greece, nourished by an artistic and cosmopolitan atmosphere. She was schooled in Paris but was often immersed in nature; the word and the image became equally important.
